Today I have the pleasure of chatting with a new friend, a musician & songwriter, half Armenian and half Russian. He found us by chance, (HotRadio), I heard him too, and now we take an interview here in hot-radio.gr so we can meet our new friend and discover his music.
My name is Gonas and I would like to introduce you to my new musician friend with his great new Deep house/Dance pop/Slap house music.
Ladies and gentlemen …….. please welcome Moak.
– MOAK hello!

– What does Moak mean?
– “MoAK is an abbreviation for Music of Andrey Karapetyan. My name is Andrey Karapetyan. Mother is Russian, father is Armenian. Therefore, I have an Armenian surname.”
– How did it all start with music? How do you decide to become a musician?
– “I once had my own group, it was called StaySee, it was little known. And now I decided – why not try again? That’s how it all started.”
– What is your favorite musical era or decade?
– “Probably still the 90s”
– Where did you grow up? Where are you from and where do you live?
– “I was born and raised in the city of Khabarovsk. This is in the Far East in Russia. This is where I live for now.”
– Where would you like to live? And why?
– “Once I wanted to move to live in Phuket in Thailand, but it didn’t work out. Now again I decided to move somewhere on the sea coast. I like the sea.”
– What inspired you to become a musician and when did you first realize that you wanted to pursue it as a career?
– “I am inspired by the desire to create and I love music very much. I always wanted to pursue this as a career, but only about 3 years ago I started to implement this plan)”

– Can you tell us about your creative process and how you approach writing music?
– “Oooh, I’m very self-critical about my tracks, it took a very long time to make each of them. Because I always didn’t like something, I started to change something. But in the end, I always achieved the desired result”
– What has influenced your sound the most?
– “Probably the music I’ve always listened to. This is the music of the 90s, and modern music and modern musical trends.”
– If you could eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
– “Meat”
– If you had any superpower that would help you in your musical career, what would it be and why?
– “Never sleep. Well, or stretch time. There is always not enough time.”
– What is your biggest fear?
– “Height.”
– Choose five words that describe yourself?
– “Purposeful, creative, optimistic, educated, faithful.”
– What is your favorite book?
– “The Gun Seller. Written by Hugh Laurie.”
– What is your favorite film?
– “Film – The Taming of the Shrew (Il bisbetico domato) with Adriano Celentano,
Series – House, M.D. with Hugh Laurie”.

– What calms you down?
– ” Sea.”
– What annoys you? What’s bothering you?
– “War.”
– You have the DeLorean from Back to the Future. What advice would you give yourself when you were young and just starting out as a musician?
– “Feel free to go to your goal, everything in this life can be achieved if there is a desire and aspiration”
– How do you think technology has changed the music industry and what impact do you think it will have in the future?
– “They changed a lot, now music is written mainly on computers in professional programs. Software is rapidly replacing live instruments.”
– If you could only listen to one musician or band for the rest of your life, who would it be?
– “Pet Shop Boys.”
– What is the strangest thing that has happened to you while performing on stage?
– “I haven’t performed on stage yet. And even when I had my own group StaySee, I was the group’s producer and sometimes wrote music and lyrics, but the group performed on stage without me.”
– What’s the most outrageous thing you’ve done?
– “Married the wrong one”
– Can you tell us about any hobbies or interests outside of music that inspire you to create?
– “I once wrote a script for a movie called Ishtakal. It’s about an exiled princess in ancient Mayan times overcoming kidnapping, the death of her lover, and the betrayal of her uncle to raise her illegitimate son and regain her throne. I tried to sell the script, several studios showed interest in it, but in the end everyone said that the film is very expensive, it requires a lot of money to be invested.”
– What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
– “Live the present.”
– What’s next? What are some of your future goals as an artist?
– “Make more music that people like.”

– So what’s in store for you until the end of 2023?
– “I’m preparing two releases with one great vocalist. I hope that everything will work out and the songs will be released this year.”

– What is your favorite song you wrote and what is the story behind it?
– “Sparks song. I wrote it for two years, periodically returning to it, then setting it aside)”
